Letting the Expert Speak

While lots of coverage of Hurricane Michael focused on the coastal communities, there hasn't been enough paid to the impact on Georgia agriculture.

This is a short blog post. I’m not taking this week off, mind you. Rather, I recognize that there are times when I need to say less and let the experts say more. This is one of those posts.

As I’m sure you know, Hurricane Michael recently slammed into the Florida panhandle and then made its way across South Georgia. While a lot of coverage of the storm focused on what happened to the impacted coastal communities (short story – they got hammered), I feel like there has not been enough attention paid to the impact of Michael on Georgia agriculture.

My friend Marshall Shepherd, a climate scientist at the University of Georgia, wrote this piece on the issue for Forbes. Please give it a read. I’ll see y’all next week.
