Aldo Leopold

I’m taking this week off, but per usual I want to leave you with a link to quotes from a pioneer in the environmental space.

I’m taking this week off, but per usual I want to leave you with a link to quotes from a pioneer in the environmental space.

Aldo Leopold was an American scientist, ecologist, and conservationist who passed away in 1948 at the age of 62. His most famous work, A Sand County Almanac, was published a year after his death, and it has been a foundational book in the land conservation space.

Here are some great quotes, with my favorite coming from the foreword of A Sand County Almanac:

“That land is a community is the basic concept of ecology, but that land is to be loved and respected is an extension of ethics.”

Cheers y’all!
